Can’t take my freedom Away Using my fear and pain Won’t sway My mind from my integrity Won’t agree when only some Are free Will not stay silent Today Change is born from the ones Who say Injustice will not be our law Resistance now is our duty Rise up (6X) Knowledge is power To gain Admitting ignorance Is king Integrate grief into healing, don’t give up now Silence is surrender So, speak! Be wise, but be wild Evil only seeks to divide We must rise, outsize Revolutionize our minds To unify Detoxify Not turn a blind eye While they vilify Our rights Our cries Change can only come with time (Spoken word) We have to find the fortitude to keep Rising up For them, for ourselves For our children, for our children’s children It’s time to raise more than our eyebrows in protest It’s time to put our bodies where we say our politics lie This is not a moment to evoke the Sweet by and by THIS is a moment for Civil disobedience If there is any humanity left in you Get up! Get up, I say stand up! Stand up, I say sit in! Write, you have to scream Wail, you have to march Pull down that racist fucking flag We have to plan We have to scheme We have to plot our way forward We have to strategize! If you rise up Be the voice of The change that you want Now starts the resistance When you rise up Don’t let self-doubt Turn to self-sabotage We The People Will restore Free body Free mind Free words Our time Not fine With liberty and justice only for some So be wild, but be wise Evil only seeks to divide We must rise, outside Revolutionize our minds (2X) Only the dead can see the end Why can’t we learn from our mistakes Of our bloodshed Divide and conquer This is their plan Newspaperman Stories to focus on instead Sometimes keep your ratings low If we’re to come together now Rise up before they shoot us down No building walls between our friends Mind your own uterus, my man I am Woman hear me roar! Rise up, rise up! So rise up, rise up, rise up! (5X) Only the dead can see the end Why can’t we learn from our mistakes Of our bloodshed Divide and conquer This is their plan Newspaperman Stories to focus on instead Sometimes keep your ratings low If we’re to come together now Rise up before they shoot us down No building walls between our friends Mind your own uterus, my man I am Woman hear me roar! Rise up, rise up! So rise up, rise up, rise up!

Our home, she moans She’s exposed The wound runs deeper Burning her ground The heat surrounds Pachamama Pachamama It breaks her fragmented heart Her soil that Gives us Our life… With a body of rain Her skin still burns We take more than give Slow down, save a life Mother Divine Protect our lifeline We breath her air Walk on her ground Drink her water What we do to her We do to ourselves Our survival lies in Sanity Sanity lies in paying attention Though I know Common sense is far from common We must Be the change we want to see Not contribute to this tragedy Our attention is an act of connection Let it be She warned, a storm Would transform How we protect her The way she breathes The song she sings Pachamama Pachamama She gave her power, her life For all her children to Survive When greed takes over The mind deceives But She’s all that we need We breath her air Walk on her ground (we walk on her ground) Drink her water What we do to her (we do to us) We do to ourselves (we do to ourselves) Our survival lies in Sanity Sanity lies in paying attention Though I know Common sense is far from common We must Be the change we want to see Not contribute to this tragedy Our attention is an act of connection Let it be

Set Free 05:06
When you name became a stone My life froze A hole in my heart The darkest part I had ever known Part of me Our history How we grew You knew stories, secrets Of our life Only you and I You outgrew your time Your body, your mind Became A new form New energy Was born into me Reformed When your soul Was set free Set free Set free

You were never second best Just like me waiting your turn Not complaining, complicating My Life Protected by your hands Though at times I know your worth Seemed underrated, unappreciated Always the quiet one But you showed me the power of words To use the good ones or just use none And that the day at hand Embraces evils enough to command More than what tomorrow plans Nobody knows the trouble we’ve seen Or when the struggle was doubled And in those times when it’s been hard to see And a part of me has crumbled You told me to fight for love Look up to the sky for love Our world can be unjust This life can make you feel crushed Just remember that you are enough I lost a sense of me Hit with quick responsibility I know it was hard to understand Apprehension and contention Added a third dimension To the way you gave me my protection A problem no longer yours to think of But Home is with us for life At times when I looked around To see if I was safe and sound I saw your face Even though I could feel your pain Nobody knows the trouble we’ve seen Or when that struggle was doubled And in those times when it’s been hard to see And a part of me has crumbled You told me to fight for love Look up to the sky for love Our world can be unjust This life can make you feel crushed Just remember that you are enough Life’s lessons, they are cold Daily tested based on our principles You came with all information I used to inform and support my own opinions Comes a moment when we don’t Fully agree It is not a rebellion Just a growth of character within me You always told me to be true To speak with intent To never lose sight of who I am Be an example people look to Even if I’ve Viewed things in a light That’s different from how you felt You taught me never to sacrifice my right In what I believe, not be passive You taught me to fight (you taught me to fight) Don’t let go of your might (don’t let go of your might) Look up to the sky (look up to the sky) Our world can be unjust (you’ll always be enough) But you are enough You taught me to fight for love Look up to the sky for love Our world can be unjust This life can make you feel crushed Just remember that you are enough

Cassandra 07:46
Wild, exiled Unreconciled She sees, nobody believes She envisions a truth She didn’t choose What would you do If no one believed you Until the prophecy came true? Her gift of sight Must guide her own life If you hear a voice in you That speaks your truth That knows the things you do Your intuitive sight You must listen to Now we stand in our power Revolutions is ours Silent majority They tried to burry our voices As hysterical noises Limited our choices Make us feel un-free They did not succeed

They always come from far away You end up trying to make them stay But it takes two to run a way… in love Together we can make it work Despite our homes around the world They’ll say we’re crazy rushing into this But now that we know how it feels We can’t resist… The day that he found light inside a Christel It made crossing the ocean much more simple Together we can face the impossible… he said She showed him how the world could be magical How nothing they could ever face would dwindle The love they found among the trees, a symbol… she said Now who knew their children would be quatrilingual? That they’d live among the green, under the twinkle That love has provided, It always surprises, Never arises Quite as you would expect it to He said…. and she said…. I do I do With you…

Aching call, deep in all Senses burning from the withdraw Breathing in your potion The rising heat makes my head spin Intoxicated I want more Flames rise in and transform Into a storm Voices change tone when we’re alone Can’t control this sensation Aching need, deepened greed Now you’ve shown me don’t make me plead I’m undone, I’m weakened Can’t keep waiting I’m feeling numb I have never felt this pleasure Intoxicated with your touch Breathing heavy, seductively My pulse quickens The feeling’s deep SOLO Wanna, wanna, yeah I wanna know How you move slow Wanna, wanna, yeah, It’s like my mind’s been confined And now aligns Wanna, wanna, yeah I wanna know how your power grows I take flight, Body unbound True present in you I have found (2X) Been waiting too long Now the thirst is strong Hooked on hunger’s want Fix my fixation (7x)
10.
Welcome to your life There's no turning back Even while we sleep We will find you acting on your best behavior Turn your back on mother nature Everybody wants to rule the world It's my own desire It's my own remorse Help me to decide Help me make the most of freedom and of pleasure Nothing ever lasts forever Everybody wants to rule the world There's a room where the light won't find you Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down When they do, I'll be right behind you So glad we've almost made it So sad they had to fade it Everybody wants to rule the world (Solo) There's a room where the light won't find you Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down When they do, I'll be right behind you So glad we've almost made it So sad they had to fade it Everybody wants to rule the world I can't stand this indecision Married with a lack of vision Everybody wants to rule the world Say that you'll never, never, never, never need it One headline, why believe it? Everybody wants to rule the world All for freedom and for pleasure Nothing ever lasts forever Everybody wants to rule the world

about

ONA is the musical expression of what being a woman means to me. It is my discovery of the wild woman spirit within me and the experiences I’ve encountered in setting her free. It celebrates the inspirational women in my life who have given me the confidence to realize my truth and express it freely. This music tells the story of what I’ve learned about the lives of women – starting with my own – our experiences, our emotions, our sexuality, our worth, our desire for freedom and our ability to overcome injustice by fighting for what we believe in.

The life of a woman is a complex synergy of emotions – aspirations, joys, disappointments, challenges and triumphs. Being a woman is as joyous as it is difficult and has been for different reasons at various points in history. The difficulties I’ve faced in my life differ greatly from those that my mother and grandmother faced before me, but in facing the barriers that have historically blocked our paths, women have developed creative and unique ways to survive and evolve. Our evolution is proof that we cannot be stopped. We are like water… we always find our way.

Women are mysterious, some wild in nature, oftentimes unpredictable, and above all capable beings. These intimidating qualities are the reasons that society has tried to “tame” us. When I was a little girl my mom would read my brother and me stories of the “wild woman archetype” from the classic book “Women Who Run with the Wolves.” Even as a young girl, I was so inspired by the stories of those free and wild women. That freedom is what ONA represents; the powerful, elegant and unapologetically feminine spirit that lives within each and every one of us.
